Greetings,
We had a great meeting last night and about 21 or so people attended. The presentation was given by Larry, W7ZRQ, about the history and current status of the 146.94 (PL 100) ISRA Repeater. He walked us through the history of the repeater that was first established in 1968 as one of the first two repeaters in the entire state. Larry talked about the evolution of the repeater from it’s first days through today and all the antenna and equipment changes that have taken place over the years. Larry played a recording of a Radio Net conducted over the repeater from 1974. It was quite interesting in that many of the same callsigns are used in the valley today but by different people because the original “owners” are long since passed on. Larry answered a number of questions about the current state of the repeater noting that it can be linked to a number of other repeaters in the valley if need be as well as mentioning that the repeater has about an 8 hour back-up power capability.
We also talked about the Christmas party in December. The date for the party is the 17th of December. Idaho Pizza Company. Starting around 7:00 PM. This is a change from normal so note the date.
We discussed nominations for ISRA Board positions. Get your nomination in by the December meeting please.
Please note: NO Meeting in November due to Thanksgiving.

Our Weekly Radio Net is doing well. We are still averaging about 25 Check-Ins week to week. If you haven’t checked in and would like to, the Frequency is 146.94 with a PL of 100. We do the net on Sunday night at 7:00 PM.
