The American Legion Post 113 Amateur Radio club will be holding a Field Day event on June 26th (Saturday). If you can read this, then you are invited! It will be a very casual day. We will set up three stations and start operating at noon as the rules allow. You are welcome to stay as long as you like. We are anticipating only operating until 4:00 PM.
One station will be a GOTA station which means “Get On The Air”, open to everyone who comes by, licensed or not. There will be control operators on hand to make it legal. Another station will be operating on HF and a third station on VHF and UHF.
There will be a push-up canopy for shade. There will also be portable power in the form of a couple of generators and a solar powered system. Matt Wrobel will be our cook (along with others) for the hot dog and burger feed.
We also have ARRL Field day patches available. We are selling them at cost which is $5.00 each. These are 2021 specific, so they will be a collector’s item after the 26th.
If you want to reserve a patch or multiple patches, please let us know as soon as possible.
We also plan to have an ARRL table with hand-outs for all who visit. We will also have an elected official or two dropping by to visit those in attendance. More dignitaries will be invited.
As mentioned earlier, we will hold the event at:
Meridian American Legion Post 113. The address is 22 W. Broadway Ave, Meridian, ID.
The upstairs of the building will be available for our use, but the event will be outside. The important thing to note is that restrooms are located upstairs. There will be another event downstairs.
For more information or to order a patch, contact Rich at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to seeing you there.
